Community Risk Reduction

As part of the Comunity Risk Reduction division of the Emergency Management Department, the annual Fire Prevention and Safety Day is always a hit at each of the Mille Lacs Band schools and early education programs from Minisinaakwaang to Aazhoomog, Chiminising to Nay Ah Shing. Students of all ages have an opportunity to learn about fire prevention and safety from local area fire departments as well as the Mille Lacs Band Wildland Fire Crews. Additionally, older students at Nay Ah Shing learned from Mille Lacs Energy Coop, East Central Energy, Mille Lacs Health System Ambulance, and MnDOT towards Zero Deaths.
