As the 2026 election year approaches, Band members are encouraged to stay informed about important election timelines, processes, and requirements. The election calendar outlines key dates, while the Election Ordinance provides the legal framework that governs how elections are conducted, helping ensure fairness, transparency, and consistency.

The December 17, 2025, Band Assembly meeting started off with the swearing-in of several people to serve in new roles for the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe. Chief Justic Rhonda Sam performed the duties of the swearing-in for each position. They are as follows:
• Anita Fineday as the Senior Deputy Solicitor General.
• Bonnie Matrious as a board member of the Department of Athletic Regulation.
• Keeli Siyaka as a Deputy Solicitor General.
• Tribal Police Officers Gavin Peterson, Carter Tornio, and Tryston West.
