THE GRA SURVEILLANCE DEPARTMENT IS MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE

The purpose of surveillance goes way beyond what most people think. When surveillance is mentioned, most people think of people sitting around in a small room watching monitors waiting for something to happen at a blackjack table. However, modern surveillance has advanced way beyond that. Surveillance has a vital role in helping the casino, as well as the guests, to make sure that everyone is having a good time and being treated fairly.

One of the areas where surveillance might help you without knowing is when you lose something. It could be a TITO ticket, or your purse, or just about anything. When you lose something of value in the casino, it is often surveillance that reviews the cameras and finds your item so you can get it back.

Surveillance makes sure that all the games at the casino are offered fairly and per the rules of the game. So, you can rest assured that when you come to the casino you are not being taken advantage of.

Parking lots are routinely monitored to make sure that your vehicle and personal property remain safe while you are enjoying yourself in the casino.

Surveillance plays a large role in detecting money laundering. Surveillance helps locate people who may be using the casino to launder illegal funds through the casino. These people are reported and not allowed to change their ill-gotten gains into legitimate money.

Surveillance monitors for human trafficking and drug activity and makes sure that the hotels are not being used for illegal activity, so you can have a safe experience and enjoy your time on the property.

Surveillance helps settle guest disputes. If you feel that you were paid incorrectly or didn't receive what you should have, surveillance will look back and see if you were not taken care of correctly and if you were paid incorrectly, then makes sure you get your money back. There are many times we discover errors after you have left the property, and the funds are returned to the guest the next time they arrive on the property.

Surveillance does still discover people cheating or stealing and make sure that everyone is doing what they are supposed to, but that's just a portion of what Surveillance does. We do much more, and a lot of people might not realize some of the different things that surveillance does.
